I'm Marissa, a Licensed Master Social Worker, a mom to an almost four-year-old, a golden doodle owner, a camper, a gardener, Lions fan, and someone who understands firsthand what it means to love people at both ends of the age spectrum at the same time. I spent a decade working in nonprofit mental health with older adults and their families before founding Collected Nest Wellness, and in that time I sat with a lot of people who were holding everything together on the outside while quietly running on empty on the inside. I started this practice because I kept meeting people who needed support and kept putting themselves last. If that sounds familiar, you are in the right place.
My approach to therapy is warm, practical, and honest. I think of a good session a little like sitting with a trusted friend, but maybe one who happens to understand the challenges of this season of life a little more deeply, and who can offer perspective, tools, and a gentle point in the right direction. I will not tell you what to do or hand you a list of things to add to your already full plate. What I will do is make sure you leave feeling more equipped to handle the week than you did walking in. Boundaries, steadiness, and a sense of self that holds even on the hard days; that is what we work toward together.
The people who take care of everyone deserve someone in their corner too.
